Question 1

Who does custom packaging in New Zealand?

Accepted Answer

Production Partners is an Auckland-based production house that handles custom packaging for agencies and brands across New Zealand. We produce rigid boxes, retail-ready shelf packaging, structural cartons, and bespoke box engineering — sourced and managed both locally and offshore. We work with agencies like Colenso BBDO, DDB, and Saatchi & Saatchi, and brands across FMCG, spirits, beauty, and corporate gifting.

Question 2

Can I get small-run custom packaging in New Zealand?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Production Partners handles runs from a few hundred units through to hundreds of thousands. For smaller runs we use local NZ suppliers for finishing, die-cutting, and assembly. For larger volumes we source offshore with full production management, quality control, and freight coordination included.

Question 3

How does offshore packaging sourcing work?

Accepted Answer

We manage the entire process — supplier selection, sampling, production oversight, quality control, compliance, freight, and delivery to your door in New Zealand. We work with vetted factories across China for packaging, print, and promotional products. You get a single point of contact in Auckland and we handle the complexity.

Question 4

What types of promotional products can you produce?

Accepted Answer

We specialise in bespoke promotional products that go beyond standard merch catalogues — custom-engineered items like interactive boxes with embedded electronics, vacuum-metallised ceramics, 3D-printed custom coins, branded wooden products, acrylic displays, and multi-material gift sets. We also source standard branded merchandise when that's what the brief calls for.

Question 5

What is a PR launch kit?

Accepted Answer

A PR launch kit is a curated package sent to media, influencers, or key stakeholders to generate buzz around a product launch or campaign. Production Partners produces these end-to-end — structural design, material sourcing, print, assembly, and delivery. Past kits have included interactive elements like embedded speakers and LCD timers, premium finishes like letterpress and foil stamping, and custom-engineered packaging.

Question 6

How long does custom packaging production take?

Accepted Answer

Timelines depend on complexity and sourcing. A locally produced rigid box or print job can turn around in 2-4 weeks. Offshore production typically runs 4-8 weeks plus 3-5 weeks sea freight to New Zealand. We plan backwards from your deadline and build in buffer for sampling and approvals.

Question 7

Do you work with advertising agencies?

Accepted Answer

Yes — agencies are our core clients. We work with creative and media agencies across New Zealand to produce the physical components of their campaigns: PR boxes, activation kits, point of sale displays, branded merchandise, and premium packaging. We handle the production so agencies can focus on the creative.
